Individual Supervision

An opportunity for psychotherapists and counsellors who have trained, or are in training with me, to present relevant material regarding their clinical practice via case discussion, recordings of client sessions, role plays, etc, allowing a space for reflective review by the therapist and feedback by the supervisor.

Offering a SAFE HAVEN and providing a SECURE BASE…

Individual Supervision

Clinical supervision is a contractual, collaborative process which monitors, develops and supports therapists in their clinical role. The central focus is on both the optimum treatment outcome for the client and the professional development and self-care of the therapist. The process of clinical supervision is seen to encompass a number of significant components, including a formal agreement between the supervisor and therapist. It is an opportunity for therapists to present relevant material regarding their clinical practice via case discussion, recordings of client sessions, role plays, etc, allowing a space for reflective review by the therapist and feedback by the supervisor.

My Aim

As an ACA approved Clinical Supervisor, my aim is to help provide you with a ‘bigger view’. This may be about the dynamic you are grappling with between you and your client, something provoked in you by a client’s material or something you are trying to understand about yourself or the therapeutic process. I may offer direct advice about a modality you could use, or I may invite you into a somatic or expressive process where we may use Somatic Sand Therapy, Symbology, Somatic Expressive Therapy, or Attachment Therapy. This experiential approach to Supervision has a dual outcome. Firstly, to be able to see a bigger view about what is happening, and secondly, to experience what it is like to move through an issue using the modalities you’ve been trained in. As a therapist, we are often wearing two hats; the person experiencing and the therapist. In Individual Supervision I aim to give the therapist an experience of both.

Please note that if you choose to do Supervision via Zoom, the opportunity to experience some expressive processes is limited.

Monique’s ability to hold a safe, nurturing space in which to learn and heal was paramount to the emotional, relational and intellectual depth I was able to go to in the training.

    Dearest Monique,
I’ve been thinking of you sitting with me all those times of sharing my grief and felt so deeply grateful for who you have been for me, and for SO MANY. Your work is so incredibly important.

Recently I felt you near me with your beautiful presence and I visualised you picking up all the broken pieces of a blue clay bowl that represented me and my shattered bits. You were on the floor with me picking up each piece, gently and respectfully saying that you were here to gather the pieces and put them back into my hands to put together again.
It was a powerful vision and I wanted to share it with you. That’s the impact you have. Your therapeutic presence remains embodied in me years after the Expressive Therapies training and the times spent since. You are the benevolent presence all of us wounded birds need. I hope you can feel all my love and gratitude right now.Thank you.
